I've been isolated for so many weeks and weeks and weeks that I've fully lost track of time. I started making masks even before our three grown kids quarantined Larry and I on March 2nd!
We were before the curve and so very grateful to be still standing and holding beneath the crazy Covid curve and all of its incredibly sad effects on our state, our nation and sadly our whole entire world.
When Salem sewists began the massive 11,000 Salem Health Mask Making Challenge (now much much higher than that since my local Mid-Valley Quilt Guild joined in as well!)
We now have multiple groups all over the city setting multi-thousands group goals and so many groups from neighborhoods to service organizations to local establishments like eateries, the Riverfront Carousel for Meals on Wheels, to groups of "together but apart' sewists everywhere!
We will not let this get us down! We're hanging in, hanging on and virtually hanging out big time. And our love of each other, our community and our world keeps our bright sewing lamps burning day and night to get our part in this journey going!
And I am still sewing them even when quotas have been filled, drop-offs made. I'm stuck in this house with the cats still sewing my sanity away!
So when I took a break to package more masks into individual and group bags only to learn it was "Mask Making Day" on Saturday, May 16th I'd already finished the 10 i needed to send off with Larry for drop offs to others!
Hooray!!!
And that pesky "mess maker mess maker get out of my stash..."
Where is he?
Out and away you wonderful terrible loveable nothing but trouble mess making sweetheart of a cat!

Time to don a mask and disinfect the premises!
