Lift Your Heart to Heaven

Refuse to fall down.
If you cannot refuse to fall down,
refuse to stay down.

If you cannot refuse to stay down
lift your heart toward heaven
and like a hungry beggar,
ask that it be filled,
and it will be filled.

You may be pushed down.
You may be kept from rising.
But no one can keep you
from lifting your heart
toward heaven —
only you.

It is in the midst of misery
that so much becomes clear.
The one who says nothing good
came of this,
is not yet listening.

refuse to fall down

Excerpted from The Faithful Gardener: A Wise Tale About That Which Can Never Die,

Love of gardening in another piece in the fabric of my life. Love of living a life based on meaning as well as living that meaning and purpose by doing.

Love of nature, love of creating and making so many things. Besides a life time of sewing and decades of quilting,  I also love to make Fabric + Paper art cards as remembrances of special times or for special people

During the most challenging of times, I lift up my own heart by creating and manifesting goodness by making good things. Light a candle and make something to lift your own spirits.

Michele Bilyeu Creates With Heart and Hands as she shares her imaginative, magical, and healing journey from Alaska to Oregon. Creating, designing, sewing, quilting, and wildcrafting... from my heart and with my hands.

I know what you mean. Feeling low I go into my studio. Sometimes I just look at the 'stuff' that surrounds me, other times I throw myself in to working on something that requires a lot of planning or thinking (so my mind will get off its 'tilt-a-whirl' of sad thoughts.Your heart work is sooo beautiful.

Thanks Michele for the poem. It is a great reminder. I am between jobs and today, for the first time, I felt discouragement trying to step in and take hold. I prayed and asked the Lord to help me deal with it. Then I read your poem... an answer to prayer. :)
