Weeding, Pruning, and Gathering
And out of all of these, I definitely prefer the gathering!!
Sweet and savory herbs, mints for homemade tea, fresh eggs from the girls, and a couple of. feathers that tell me Autumn will soon be here!
And then on to the wild blackberries for cobblers! And yes, I tripped on the vines, lost my sandal, and my balance and stepped full onto the prickly vines on the ground! But I managed enough for a cobbler and hope to get more when the pruning is done.
Will there be light at the end of this mass of wisteria vines tunnel? Soon, very soon! I just need to find the gloves, the clippers, and the ladder. Now, where did I just leave those???
And this wild patch actually is orderly somewhere under neath the mess of mint and feverfew and daisies!! Summer time and the living is never easy, but it still feels good and makes me smile to get it all done..bit by bit, day by day!!!
Michele Bilyeu blogs With Heart and Hands as she shares her creative and healing journey from Alaska to Oregon. Wildcrafting and the textiles arts... sewing, quilting, and creating prayer flags. Thank you, Phyllis!!! I checked out your blog and you have such a love of nature and of wildlife! It was a great connection visit!
That is quite the harvest! I only planted flowers this year. Only have to harvest if I want to. Unfortunately, I forgot that I would still need to weed and prune.
