Keep Moving!

During the '80's into the '90's, I used to grow and dry flowers. There wasn't a surface in my house that didn't have flowers tied with big bows of raffia set out drying. I gardened both inside and out... and it made me happy!

I used the flowers and made dried flower arrangements, wreaths for walls, doors, and photo and wooden mirror frames, and anything else I could find, hot glue, and cover with the loveliest of dried flowers.

I used them to decorate at open houses, to give as wedding, or house warming gifts, and fill up my house with these fun projects, as well.

My friends used to say "If you go to Michele's, keep moving.... or she'll decorate you with flowers and tie raffia on you." My possibilities were endless ...and because I love making them...I did.

So, now its quilting. And if you come over to my house...all I can say is "keep moving." If I see you I just might make you a quilted cover, or a quilted wrap.

Shown here: some recent projects all made from scraps. A potholder, a double potholder to hand over an oven handle, a coffee press wrap..and yes, I know...I get carried away. Those are, indeed, soap dispenser wraps.

I used to buy 'nice' soaps. No more! I buy 89 cent ones *bonus sized* and give them a fancy wrap! And of course, I know there are those giant refill bottles, too. But those don't get wrapped ;)

I thought those at least would make people question my sanity! But so far everyone who has seen them has liked them, whether they initially thought it odd or not ...and yes, may I add...wanted one ;)

So, when it comes to my love of quilting...if you come to my house.....keep moving!
I know that I do ;)

I love the soap wraps. I must say, they would not go over to well at my home. My teen grandsons live with me and I can barely get them to wipe the water off the top of the vanity when they are done. But I must admit that my MIL would LOVE one! too.

Of all the blogs I read, your's is one home I'd love to visit. I can sit us sitting and chatting all about quilting, about our mothers and about life. I can only imagine the fun we'd have sewing up something you've designed. What a blessing and gift it would be to me. Hugs

I love all of these! You make the greatest things that I have never thought of. But when I see them, I want them too..even the soap wraps.

I'm laughing at the teenage boys comment! I may regret them with just one husband still at home..not that I used to have more, you understand. But they are super neat to pick up and don't slip out of your hands. Oh, wait..am I the only person who picks up her bottled soap and not just bars of soap ;)

Yep, I want one of everything too, including the soap wrap! :D Hey, could you do a post on how you do all of that quilting, and 'keep' house too? Not that I 'keep' house---I detest housecleaning BUT on occasion I have to kill dust bunnies and cobwebs and nasty bathroom sinks and every now and then my hubby thinks I should be in the kitchen doing strange things like *cooking*---egads, between the messes my four-leggeds make ...well, anyway, any tips would be appreciated. ;D

From one obsession to the next! I'd love to visit, but I have a feeling that I'd be doing more looking than moving.

Ha! At least the soap wraps are washable. I think they're a great idea. Customizable too. Good on you!

I have enjoyed reading through your blogs and felt that I had to comment on this post!
I am so pleased to hear that I am not alone! My son feels that one day he will come home and in his words "You will have quilted the countertops!". This has now become a saying in my house when I have been madly quilting - that I am quilting the countertops!
(I used to do dried flowers too - it all sounds so familiar.)
