alien encounters
as i came out of surgery, i joked that the operating room looked like the inside of an alien spaceship.
little did i know, that my new bionic parts of titanium plate and screws,
would look exactly like an implanted, alien hand.
i mean, i am a firm believer in gratitude and acceptance,
of working hard and seeing a purpose to even the hardest of challenges,
but really....
until i start receiving my encoded transmissions from the master colony,
i'm wondering....
can this thing even quilt?

That is definitely freaky looking, lol.
I figure if I just stay in the house for the rest of the winter, I might be safe, then again, I do have stairs;)
Debbie
It's amazing the advancement medical technology has taken. When I broke my ankle Dec '08, I had to have ten screws, three pins, and a couple of plates to hold it back together again. Talk about scary. It's hard to believe all that hardware fits! LOL
That is some very impressive hardware! Don't think I am envious though...broke my wrist last November and only had a green cast. Much easier than the external fixator they installed on the left one a few years ago.
We probably both agree - let's not do this again!!
Take care.
I've heard aliens have taken over the quilting world...they make better quilters. Can't wait to see what you create next.
Hope you feel better soon, even if you haven been taken over by aliens forces!

You crack me up! Laughter therapy indeed.
I just hope that that "thing" lets you quilt again.
don't phone home!!!! They might not quilt there!
Did you hear about the new movie, "Alien vs Quilter"? Seriously, that is an amazing contraption. Does it stay there or do they take it out after your wrist heals? Hope you're feeling better.
Makes me think of the Borg on Star Trek. You really did a number on yourself. My hubby has similar stuff in his back. Get well soon.
Totally amazing!! Hugs
Earth to Michele! Earth to Michele!! The quilting world NEEDS you back!
OMG, that is really weird looking! Amazing what technology has come up with! I do hope you'll be back to quilting soon. Meanwhile, praying for a speedy, painless recovery.
You poor thing. Since you are now bionic you should be able to sew ten times faster right!! Think positive.
Ouch....I feel for you, I am finally recovering from a broken arm too. You're right, it does look as though an alien has burrowed into your hand!
It must be an age thing and I'm probably showing mine when I tell you that it made me think of the old TV Show, The Bionic Woman ... and how you'll now be quilting at the speed of light with that hand ;-)
Hopefully your alien hand has memory of how it made quilts back in the motherland, and then you will write a book about what alien quilts look like and be world famous, and maybe even galaxy famous, and I will be able to say I knew you when..
Michele,
I just want to know if you are going to get through airport security without setting off all the security
devices??? LOL
I hope that it is not too painful as it begins to heal. I trust that you are behaving yourself, listening to your doctor and giving it some time to heal.
I am sure you will be quilting before you know it.
I will keep looking for things to make you laugh.
Warmest regards,
Anna
tee hee :- )
Just make sure you get enough rest between transmissions!
Oooo, a bionic wrist! Does this mean you'll be able to quilt for hours and hours and hours without getting tired?
Everyone's gonna want one now! lol
Maybe you could design their next model with a built in rotary cutter and thread snipper? Asking for a Iron may be going a bit too far...
Hope you are feeling better soon!
I am so sorry you have had to go through this...your transmissions will start soon, and I am sure it is a quilting alien civilization!
Hi Elaine... I hope you're making a good recovery following the surgery. You continue to be in my thoughts & prayers.
Hugs, Karen

Ez szörnyen néz ki!!Mielőbbi jobbulást kívánok!!!
Oh, my! You really are the bionic woman in so many ways!
